A Month in Europe: The Perfect One-Day Itinerary for Frankfurt
Second Day in Frankfurt!!
Yesterday, I couldn’t adjust to the time difference, so I fell asleep around 8 PM.
I woke up at 5 AM today because I was so hungry. It was still too early, so not many shops were open. I decided to head to the central station to get some breakfast.
It’s drizzling a bit…and it’s colder than I expected. ㅜㅜ
I was already so hungry that I bought a smoked salmon onigiri (it was surprisingly delicious), a salad, and a spring onion cream cheese pretzel that looked really tasty. My first pretzel in Germany… I thought it would taste similar to the ones in Korea, but it’s definitely more delicious. The more I chewed, the tastier it got. Haha.
After breakfast, I took another nap, then got ready to explore Frankfurt. Just as I stepped out, it started raining… Ugh, I hate rain ㅡ..ㅡ
EURO TOWER
Today, I just plan to walk around the city. My first stop is the Eurotower, haha. It’s exactly as it sounds. Frankfurt is Germany’s financial city, so it’s cute to have this euro symbol as a landmark.
Zeil shopping street
After checking out the Eurotower, I walked to the shopping street. I find walking around during travels is what I remember the most later on. So today, as usual, I walked and walked and walked some more.
The shopping street has a vibe similar to Garosu-gil in Korea. There’re so many shopping spots and after some eye-shopping we headed to Kleinmarkthalle.
kleinmarkthalle
Such a cute market!! They sell fruits and various food ingredients here. There are also restaurants and cafes inside. I came here because there’s a famous sausage place I wanted to try.
Römerberg
Next was Römer Square. There were classic German-style buildings, and it was bustling with tourists. We walked around for a bit but got tired, so we went into a café for some coffee and also ordered a carrot cake.
Eiserner Steg
Eiserner Steg Bridge! It’s so beautiful, but it would have been even nicer if the weather was clearer! Crossing the bridge for a walk is lovely, and on a sunny day, make sure to grab a coffee or cocktail in one of the outdoor seats! ^.^
I originally planned to have Schweinshaxe for dinner, but I wasn’t that hungry, so I just bought some convenience store food. Haha, and I was curious about the apple wine, so I bought it from the convenience store… It’s not very strong, and it has a mild apple scent. It didn’t feel incredibly delicious to me, but I’d like to try it again next time >,<
